View,
study, and photograph the fertile habitat of Kenya on a travel/study
safari offered by Oakton Community College. Two-week trips to this
East African hub of trade and finance in 2005 depart on: June 7, Aug.
2, and Oct. 4.
Begin
your journey in Nairobi and visit the Department of Paleontology and
the National Museum of Kenya. Stop in Boystown to learn about current
social issues affecting Kenyan children. Drive across the Athi Plaines
through one of the best-known gaming parks. Visit with wildlife researchers
and witness the sight of one million flamingos at Lake Nakuru. Tour
Mt. Kenya and cross the equator to the Samburu Game Reserve to view
elephants, leopards, lions, Grevy zebras, giraffes, and Beisa oryx.
A balloon safari is offered at an additional cost.
A family safari trip to Kenya is also available in August. Bring the
family along for a ride through a rich canopy of wildlife and observe
its inhabitants. Cultures unite when young travelers have the opportunity
for playtime with local children in the village of Masai.
Throughout
the safari experience, participants will be immersed in the culture
and wildlife of Kenya. For complete itineraries and costs, call Bea
