Kindergarten
through sixth grade students are invited to have fun while learning
new concepts at Kids' College, a summer enrichment program at Oakton
Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road. A 10 percent "early bird" discount
is available to parents who meet registration deadlines.
Classes
are offered in five, one-week sessions, beginning July 11 through
Aug. 8, and meet 1:20 - 4:20 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The following
courses are offered during the week of July 11.
Alphabet Activities (KDIE 01-32), for youngsters entering kindergarten
and first grade, introduces fun activities to boost language skills.
Course fee is $100.
Math
Lab (KDES 33-32), for students entering the second and third grades,
stimulates visual thinking about math. Course fee is $100.
Fancy
Beaded Bags (KDES 95-32), for youths entering fourth, fifth, and
sixth grades, teaches how to make unique bags including cell phone
pouches and beach bags. Course fee is $104, which includes a $4 materials
fee.
Other
classes include Bean Math (KDES 87-32), Experiments Around
the World (KYSP 99-32), and Liquid Chemistry (KYSP 06-32).
