Oakton Kids' Club Presents Storytelling With Kucha

Dance and sing with the Oakton Community College Kids' Club as it presents "Kucha, Your Favorite Storyteller" at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. in the TenHoeve Center on the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.

Kucha Brownlee weaves a rich tapestry of folk tales, fables, proverbs, and dialect into her performance art. Accompanied by the sounds of the shekere, and encouraging audience participation, her performance is designed to inspire, educate, and entertain young audiences.

Tickets are $4 for general admission, $3 for Oakton students and children ages 3 - 12, and may be purchased at the door or by calling the Oakton Box Office at 847-635-1900. There is no charge for children age 2 and under.

The Kids' Club family program series continues March 2, with Susan L. Stone's "Worldwide Lore," a day of tales about tricky leprechauns, sly foxes, evil fairies, and matza balls, and "Sleeping Ugly," a modern twist to the classic fairytale, on April 20.
