Oakton Librarian Jane Malik Honored

Jane Malik, assistant professor of library services at Oakton Community College, is the winner of the North Suburban Library System (NSLS) Academic Library Staff Member of the Year. Malik was honored Friday, March 14, at the NSLS Annual Membership Awards Banquet in Palatine.

The award recognizes exceptional contributions to NSLS and its member libraries. "She is a leader in the best sense of the word, as she implements new ideas and shares energy and credit within her community," NSLS officials said.

The NSLS is an organization of more than 650 academic, public, school, and special libraries in north suburban Cook, Kane, Lake, and McHenry counties.
