Adult
learners seeking schedule flexibility and convenience are invited
to explore the many media-based courses offered through Oakton Community
College.
Media-based
courses may be taken via television, CD-ROM, or videotapes, in conjunction
with a textbook, student guide, and Oakton instructor. Instructor
contact is maintained by e-mail, telephone, or in person meetings.
Most
media-based courses can be viewed at one or more public libraries
in the district. Several courses are broadcast on WYCC (PBS, Channel
20); others are featured on Oakton's cable TV channel available in
several communities. Media-based courses also may be viewed in the
Instructional Media Services Centers (IMS) at the Des Plaines campus,
1600 E. Golf Road, and Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.,
Skokie.
Registration
for media-based courses is open through June 24, and may be processed
by mail or in person. Registration also may be completed using the
Touch-Tone system by dialing 847-635-1616. Touch-Tone registration
requires payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover).

complete listing of media-based courses and fees, visit the Office
