Adults
considering a career change or seeking to develop new management and
marketing skills may find the direction they need at Oakton Community
College. All featured courses meet at the Des Plaines campus, 1600
E. Golf Road.
Principles
of Marketing (MKT 131-050) allows students to develop and analyze
marketing plans. Two sessions are available. A 13-week course meets
6:30 - 10 p.m., Tuesdays, starting Feb. 8; a 10-week course meets
8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturdays, starting Feb. 26.
Integrated Marketing Communications (MKT 270-050) shows how
to combine advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, and public
relations to target consumers. Thirteen-week course meets 6 - 9:20
p.m., Wednesdays, starting Feb. 9.
Introduction
to Nonprofit Management (MGT 115-0W1) covers topics such as how
to develop a strategic plan, managing volunteers, working with a board,
and establishing a mission statement. Eight-week course meets 9 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m., Saturdays, starting Feb. 12.
Effective
Management Communications (MGT 118-001) examines the suitability
of various forms for business decision making, including e-mails,
oral presentations, interviews, and teleconferences. Twelve-week course
meets 6 - 9:20 p.m., Wednesdays, starting Feb. 16.
Project
Team Leadership (MGT 226-0V1) explores various models related
to project design and implementation. Twelve-week course meets 6 -
9:50 p.m., Thursdays, starting Feb. 17. Course is taught by two-way
video between both campuses. Register for MGT 226-0V2 to take course
at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
