OAKTON'S "MUSEUM" OPENS MARCH 23


Oakton Community College's production of "The Colored Museum," an award-winning play that examines the myths and madness of African-American culture, debuts on March 23.

Written by George C. Wolfe, the author of "Jelly's Last Jam," this electrifying satire of 11 vignettes addresses issues of African-American identity, including internalized oppression, cultural liberation, racism and poverty.

Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the Black Box Studio One Theater, 1600 E. Golf Rd., Des Plaines, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, in Room 145-152 at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and groups of 15 or more. For tickets or more information, call the Oakton Box Office at (847) 635-1900.
