Learn the History of Music at Oakton

Expand your understanding of music throughout the history of Western civilization this fall at Oakton Community College.

Music Literature and History (MUS 236-001) examines the styles, literature, and musical concepts of many acknowledged musical eras. The 16-week, three-credit course meets 12:30 - 1:45 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Aug. 22, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Music Literature and History is an approved Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) course for transfer to participating Illinois colleges and universities.

Additional fall semester music class listings may be found in the Fall 2006 Credit and Noncredit Class Schedule, which may be picked up at either Oakton campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, or 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Through Aug. 13, Oakton will observe summer hours, closed to all activity on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. In-person registration at either campus is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Students also may register online at www.oakton.edu. Students with an application on file may register at my.oakton.edu.
