Oakton Appoints New Dean of Health and Science Careers


The Oakton Community College Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Dennis Graham as dean of the Division of Science and Health Careers. Graham, a resident of Carpentersville, assumes his new position immediately.

As dean of the Division of Science and Health Careers, Graham will oversee various departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Health Information Technology.

Graham earned a B.S. in education with a major in chemistry from Wayne State College in Nebraska and an M.S. in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Oakton, he served as associate dean of health careers, arts, and humanities at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, Iowa, and prior to that as chair of its chemistry department. He also brings to Oakton valuable management and training skills from previous employment at Safety Kleen Corporation in Elgin, IL, where he provided corporate training and development expertise.
