There's still time to enroll in continuing education classes offered this summer by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning.Quicken (DPR A97-32, Touch-Tone 08721) is an introduction to the popular database software for managing personal and small business finances. Topics to be covered include invoicing, managing investment and cash accounts, and working with loans and mortgages. This class meets from 3:45 - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 2 - 23, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd. The course fee is $200.
Other computer courses beginning soon include Windows Applications (DPR A76), Office Applications (DPR A82), Microsoft Word (DPR A83), Excel (DPR A84), Access (DPR A71), and Advanced Web Page Design - Animation (DPR A87).
Two courses offered this summer provide continuing education credits for real estate salespersons and brokers. Black, White, or Gray: Ethical Dilemmas (REL E77-31, Touch-Tone 08743) uses case studies to illustrate moral and ethical dilemmas that arise in the real estate industry. This class meets from 6:45 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. The course fee is $40.
Understanding Contracts Makes for Better Client Relations (REL E63-31, Touch-Tone 08742) analyzes listing agreements, buyer-broker agreements, and sales contracts in relation to meeting the needs of clients. This class meets from 6:45 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Ray Hartstein Campus. The course fee is $40.
