Advance
your nonprofit career by enrolling in a variety of courses at Oakton
Community College. The following courses apply toward Oakton's Certificate
in Nonprofit Advancement, a 21-credit-hour program that builds nonprofit
management skills.
Introduction to Nonprofit Management (MGT 115-0V1,
MGT 115-0V2) presents basic management concepts of the nonprofit sector.
Six-week course meets Monday, 6 - 10 p.m., starting Sept. 17. This
course is taught by two-way video and available at Oakton's Des Plaines
campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, and Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln
Ave., Skokie.
Nonprofit Law, Policy, and Government Relations (MKT
135-050) reveals how nonprofits interface with local, state, and federal
governments. Seven-week course meets Thursday, 6:30 - 10 p.m., starting
Oct. 18, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Fundraising
and Grantwriting (MKT 134-050) offers an in-depth exposure
to the skills necessary to fund a nonprofit organization. Seven-week
course meets Tuesday, 6:30 - 10 p.m., starting Oct. 30, at Oakton's
Des Plaines campus.
