Register for Oakton Online Courses


Improve professional skills without leaving the comfort of home via new online courses offered by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL). Registration is now available for classes beginning in April.

Creating Web Pages (DPR A78-302, Touch-Tone 06658) teaches student how to build their own Web site, from content to layout. Requirements for the course are e-mail, Internet access, and Netscape or Internet Explorer Web browser. The class begins April 9 and the course fee is $69.

Introduction to Networking (DPR A50-302, Touch-Tone 08279) introduces students to the fundamentals of networking. Requirements for the course are Microsoft Windows 95 or newer, e-mail, Internet access, and Netscape or Internet Explorer. The class begins on April 9 and the course fee is $59.

Successful Screenwriting (COM S10-302, Touch-Tone 08273) teaches students about classic story structure and various genres of screenplays; how to develop strong characters, memorable dialogue, and powerful storylines; and marketing tips for pitching their work. Requirements for the course are e-mail, Internet access, and Netscape or Internet Explorer. The class begins on April 9 and the course fee is $79.

Other online courses offered include Windows 2000 Professional (DPR A24), Windows File and Disk Management (DPR A96), Navigating Your Palm Pilot (DPR E14), Intro to PC Troubleshooting (DPR A28), and Technical Writing (COM S11).

Students who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years or a credit course within the last three years may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448.
