Popular Oakton Course Offered Online This Summer

Students preparing for college can upgrade study skills and learn strategies for success by enrolling in College Success Seminar (COL 101 7C1), a three-credit-hour online class offered this summer by Oakton Community College.

Known popularly as "College 101," the seven-week course reviews listening and note-taking techniques, how to balance work and school, and strategies for choosing a major. Other valuable topics are featured in the companion text, "Keys to Success in College, Career, and Life: How to Achieve Your Goals." Through various exercises, students evaluate their personal learning styles and learn how to think critically about their choices and goals. The course includes weekly assignments and many opportunities for online discussions about educational and career topics.

The "College 101" online class begins Monday, June 9. For information about registration, fees, and the course orientation, call Georgia Kariotis at 847-635-1943.
