OAKTON HOLDS OPEN AUDITIONS FOR "THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES"


Oakton Community College is holding open auditions for Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and Wednesday, Dec. 12, in Room 2701 at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd.

"The Vagina Monologues" has an all-female cast. Parts are available for women of all ages and types; women of color are particularly encouraged to audition. Actors will be required to do cold readings from the script. Rehearsals for the show begin Jan. 7, 2002.

Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. on Feb. 15, 16 and 17 in conjunction with Oakton's participation in the V-DAY 2002 College Campaign to combat violence toward women. For more information, call Kathleen Carot, assistant professor of speech and theater, at (847) 376-7061.
