Open Call for Never the Sinner at Oakton Community College

Auditions for Never the Sinner, Oakton Community College's first theater production of the fall season, are scheduled from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4, in Studio One at the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. No appointment is required.

Written by John Logan, Never the Sinner explores the psychology behind the 1924 thrill killing of a 14-year-old boy by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, the gifted sons of two wealthy Chicago families. Challenging parts are available for two male actors in their early 20s, an older male to play the role of famous attorney Clarence Darrow, and several female characters. Actors will be required to do readings from the script; copies are on reserve at the Oakton Library. Prepared monologues will be heard as well.

Rehearsals begin Friday, Sept. 6. Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. on Oct. 11, 12, 18, and 19; and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 20. For more information, call Karol Verson at (847) 635-2185.
