Registration is ongoing for Oakton Community College's series of free parent education seminars on Wednesday evenings, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sessions are offered at both the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd. and the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
Keeping the Balance: Your Family Values vs. Outside Influence will focus on understanding the dynamics involved in maintaining familial beliefs within the context of the greater culture. Scheduled for June 5 at the Ray Hartstein Campus.
Ready, Set, Go to Kindergarten will focus on the transition between pre-school and public school, and will help attendees understand kindergarten expectations. Scheduled for May 22 at the Ray Hartstein Campus.
Good Night Moon: Getting Your Child to Sleep, and other Transitions will identify strategies to assist parents during those trying transitional periods, such as bedtime, waking, bathing, etc. Scheduled for May 29 in Des Plaines.
This series is sponsored by the Oakton Community College Early Childhood Demonstration Center. Seminars are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is necessary.
