Plunge
into the culture, history, and ecology of Peru on a travel/study program
sponsored by Oakton Community College. Trips in 2008 depart in January,
April, June, July, and August. A two-week trip for 2008 led by Bea
Cornelissen, special events and tour manager at Oakton, is scheduled
to depart June 21.
See
the spectacular wildlife ecosystems available in Colca, Arequipa,
and Ballestas Islands. Ponder the magnificence of Machu Picchu and
how the ancient civilization of the Incas built this archeological
masterpiece. Fly over the desert to view the mysterious Nasca Lines.
Lower
cost versions of this learning vacation are available for the budget-minded
traveler. Alternative trips include more modest accommodations and
meal packages. Jungle extension tours to Puerto Maldonado and Manu
are available at an additional cost.
