Embark
on a pharmaceutical career by enrolling in Oakton Community College's
Pharmacy
Technician Program this fall.
Students
prepare for employment as a pharmacy technician and for the national
certification examination in this 12-week course, presented with MRxI
Corporation. The Professional Pharmacy Technician Program focuses
on the fundamentals and specifics of technician training in various
environments, including retail, hospital, and community. All classes
are taught by an interim licensed or practicing Registered Pharmacist
or Doctor of Pharmacy. Topics include basic physiology, drug interactions,
and daily pharmacy operations.
Pharmacy
Technician is offered at both Oakton campuses. Pharmacy Technician
(MLT 125 0W2) meets 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturdays, starting Sept. 8,
at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Pharmacy Technician
(MLT 125 050) meets 6:30 - 9:20 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting
Sept. 18, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave.,
Skokie.
Registration
and financial aid for the Professional Pharmacy Technician Program
is handled through Oakton Community College. The program is administered
by MRxI Corporation, which has local alliances with hospitals, pharmacies,
