Make Historic Pilgrimages on Oakton Tour

Make pilgrimages to the most famous European religious centers on a travel/study program sponsored by Oakton Community College. The final 2006 trip departs on Nov. 6.

Worship with local parishioners at the Basilica of Fatima in Portugal. Visit the coastal village of Nazare and witness the architectural splendor of the massive Alcobaca Monastery. Journey to Spain and visit the Cathedral of Burgos and marvel at the gothic sculpture completed in 1222. Head northeast to Lourdes, France, to visit the places associated with the life of St. Bernadette, including the Holy Hill. Cross back into Spain and explore the fascinating city of Barcelona with a tour that showcases Las Ramblas Boulevard, Columbus Monument, and Parc Guell, culminating with a visit to Antonio Gaudi's masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia.

This European excursion is filled with cultural interactions. For more information and complete itineraries, call Bea Cornelissen at 847-635-1812.
