Buccaneer Adventure Comes to Oakton

Children's literature comes to life at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, with two performances of the classic adventure, How I Became a Pirate, Saturday, May 3, at 12 and 2 p.m.

Little landlubbers thrill to this stage adaptation of Melinda Long and David Shannon's award-winning book, which follows Braid Beard's pirate crew on a fantastic voyage in search of buried treasure.

Tickets are $7; $5 for children under 12; and $4 for groups of 15 or more. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

To reserve tickets, call the Oakton Box Office at 847-635-1900.
