Enjoy the historic beauty of Portugal on a travel/study
tour offered through Oakton Community College. The next available
trip departs in March 2009.
Visit the scenic town of Cascais and stroll through the many specialty
shops filled with handmade crafts. Travel to Sintra, which for six
centuries has been the favored summer residence of Portugal’s
kings. Tour a winery in Azeitao, and later discover how the Portuguese
make their famous hand-painted tiles. Experience Portugal’s
“Silver Coast,” a region of charming villages, vineyards,
and ancient castles. Explore the capital city of Lisbon, one of the
world’s most intriguing cities, set on seven hills overlooking
the Tagus River.
A tour of Madeira Island, the “Pearl of the Atlantic,”
is available at an additional cost.
