Students
of all ages are invited to attend a preview of new courses and certificate
programs on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E.
Golf Road. The "New on the Menu" preview will be held 6 - 8 p.m.,
to showcase new courses in business, computers, education, engineering
and industry, health, and liberal arts.
New certificates
for the 2004-05 academic year include computer information systems,
computer networking, computer application software, facilities management
and engineering, fire science technology, management and supervision,
graphic design, marketing management, and pharmacy technician. Fall
semester classes begin Aug. 23.
During
the preview night, students can observe updated software and hardware
demonstrations for CAD/CAM design, CNC machining, Allen Bradley PLC,
Microsoft Office, computer networking products, computer programming
languages, and Web development tools. The preview also offers a chance
for students to talk with faculty and register for courses.
