An exhibition that illustrates
various methods of printmaking throughout history opens Thursday,
July 10, at the Koehnline Museum of Art at Oakton Community College,
1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
From etching and lithography, to woodcut and linocut, the exhibition,
Nuances of Printmaking, focuses on techniques used
by a wide range of artists. Historical examples from Oakton’s
permanent collection include Japanese block prints, WPA prints, and
lithographs from Will Peterson’s Plucked Chicken Press. Works
by contemporary printmakers Catherine Cajandig, Bill Moll, Diane Thodos,
Kurt Brian Webb, and others also will be on display.
The public is invited to attend a free reception with refreshments,
5 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 10. This free exhibition runs through
Thursday, August 28.
The Museum is currently operating under summer hours, and is open
10 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
