Proof,
playwright David Auburn's 2001 Tony Award winner for best play, will
be presented March 1 - 11 at Studio One in the Performing Arts Center
at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Proof
is a tightly-woven family drama set in Chicago with themes of love,
loyalty, and madness. The play centers on Catherine grappling with
the death of her father, a legendary mathematician whose once-brilliant
mind had succumbed to insanity. In 2005, Proof was made into
a movie starting Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.
Performances
of Proof are 8 p.m., Fridays, March 2 and 9; 8 p.m., Saturdays,
March 3 and 10; 2 p.m., Sundays, March 4 and 11; and 8 p.m., Thursday,
March 8. Tickets are $10; $8 for students and seniors; and $6 for
groups of 15 or more.
A
$5 preview performance will be presented at 8 p.m., Thursday, March
1; post-show discussions will be held after the Sunday performances
on March 4 and 11.
