Audition for Tony Award-Winning Play at Oakton
Open auditions for the Performing Arts at Oakton production of Proof, by David Auburn, are scheduled 6 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24 and Thursday, Jan. 25, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
Winner of the 2001 Tony Award for best play, Proof is a tightly-woven family drama set in Chicago. Embracing themes of love, loyalty, and madness, the play centers on a young woman dealing with the death of her father, a brilliant mathematician. In 2005, Proof was released as a major motion picture starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.
The director is casting two men to play in their 20s and 50s and two women to play in their mid-to-late 20s. Prepared monologues and cold readings will be heard.
Proof will be presented March 1 - 4, and March 8 - 11, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus. For ticket information, call the Oakton Box Office at 847-635-1900.
