'Tis the Season to Redecorate With Oakton


Spend the winter months planning changes to your domestic environment with Around the Home courses offered by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL).

Courage With Color and Patterns (HEC B20-01, Touch-Tone 08217) teaches students how to use color schemes, proportion, and balance to create a new look. The class meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 26 - March 19, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. The course fee is $75.

Faux Decorating (ART B50-01, Touch-Tone 08331) introduces the techniques of faux finishes, including rag rolling, blotting, and sponge painting. The class meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 4 - Feb. 25, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge. The course fee is $69, and there is a materials fee of $20.

Other home improvement courses include Furniture Arrangement (HEC B17) and Kitchen Remodeling (TEC E88).

Students who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years or a credit course in the last three years may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448. Both methods require payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover).
