'Resident Alien' Takes Off at Oakton on Dec. 6

Cosmic concepts and out-of-this-world dialogue are in store when the Oakton Community College Performing Arts Center presents the intergalactic comedy, "Resident Alien," beginning Friday, Dec. 6, in Studio One at the Des Plaines campus.

A heart-warming and delightful play written by Stuart Spencer and directed by Patti Interrante, "Resident Alien" details an alien's experiences when he arrives in a small Wisconsin town. Visiting Earth only to read celebrity gossip magazines and catch a few episodes of "Friends," the alien, with his remarkably uncluttered view on life, delivers a dose of much needed humanity and comic relief to the residents' daily life.

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and 13, and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14; and for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 and 15. Tickets at $12 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors, and $8 for group and Partner in Performance (PIP) members may be purchased by calling the Oakton Box Office at 847-635-1900. The purchase of one full-price ticket to any of shows in the fall 2002 performance schedule earns a free PIP membership to Oakton's Performing Arts Center and reduced ticket prices to other shows. To learn about discounts for groups of 15 or more, call Karol Verson at 847-635-2185.
