Author
and motivational speaker Michael Schwass of Des Plaines
visits Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.,
2 p.m., April 22. His presentation, "It's Not the Challenges You Face:
It's How You Face Your Challenges," is free and open to the public.
Schwass, author of Don't Blame the Game, was paralyzed in
1975 while playing hockey for Notre Dame High School. For more than
20 years he has dedicated himself to providing inspiration and support
to hundreds of quadriplegics and paraplegics, as well as able-bodied
individuals. Schwass has appeared on The Today Show, CBS,
ABC, and CNN.
"It's Not the Challenges You Face: It's How You Face Your Challenges,"
provides audiences with his real-life experiences and offers an innovative
approach to problem solving.
The
lecture is sponsored by Oakton's chapter of Psi Beta, the National
Honor Society in Psychology for Community and Junior Colleges.
