Visit Historic Scotland on Oakton Tour

Visit Scotland, a country of stunning landscapes, lively cities, and stirring history, on an educational tour offered through Oakton Community College's travel and study program. Only one trip in 2007 is scheduled, departing on Sept. 10.

Tour the regal city of Edinburgh, which includes a visit to the famous Edinburgh Castle, the city's landmark and home of the Scottish crown jewels. Travel to St. Andrews, the historic home of golf, and see the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and the famous Old Course. Follow the coast road to visit the majestic Dunrobin Castle, built in 1275. Learn the art of producing Scotch whiskey at the Edradour Whiskey Distillery and enjoy a tasting of Highland malt whiskey. Search for the elusive Loch Ness Monster while traveling through Loch Ness, one of Britain's most scenic bodies of water. Witness the remarkable skills of working Scottish sheep dogs and learn about Scottish farming before continuing to Stirling Castle, first built 900 years ago and used as the residence for the House of Stewart.
