Oakton Shuttle Service Returns This Fall
Shuttle service returns this fall between Oakton Community College campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie. The American Taxi shuttle departs from either campus Monday through Thursday at 8:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 2:15 p.m.
The cost of a one-way trip is $2; 15 trip tickets may be purchased for $20. Tickets are available only at the Oakton campus bookstores.
Service runs from Monday, Aug. 25 through Tuesday, Dec. 16. This program was introduced last year as part of Oakton’s strategic goal to develop ecologically sound practices. Every gallon of gas saved by using the shuttle prevents 20 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.
