Oakton Men's Soccer Team Nationally Ranked

The Oakton Community College men's soccer team has earned its highest-ever national ranking in the most recent National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Men's Soccer Coaches Association Poll.

According to the NJCAA poll released Sept. 13, the Raiders (5-0-2) were ranked No. 13 in the nation. Oakton, the reigning Skyway Conference champion, was ranked as high as No. 16 in polling last season.

This year, Oakton boasts wins over two nationally ranked opponents, Lewis & Clark Community College and Iowa Central Community College. The Raiders also have dominated this season, posting five shutout wins and outscoring opponents 25-3. The NJCAA lists Raider sophomore Adnan Ejupovic seventh in the nation in scoring. The Foreman High School alum has tallied 21 points this season, scoring eight goals and earning five assists.

The Raiders are coached by Steve Brody, who in 2003 was named NJCAA Coach of the Year and Skyway Conference Coach of the Year.

Oakton hosts Skyway Conference opponents McHenry County College at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, and Springfield College at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18.
