Sculpture and Music Exhibition Opens Dec. 14

The holistic relationship between sculpture and music is explored in a new exhibition that opens Thursday, Dec. 14, at Oakton Community College's Koehnline Museum of Art, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. The public is invited to a free reception, 5 - 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14. The exhibit runs through Friday, Jan. 26.

Song Lines features Michele Russman's near-transparent wire sculptures that invite viewers to look through them. Mark Nelson's airy music encourages the listener to focus on all sounds as part of a subtly integrated, metamorphosing fabric. This unique and serendipitous sculpture-sound interplay induces surprise and discovery, while offering serenity.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Museum hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call 847-635-2633, or visit www.oakton.edu/museum.
