Travel to Spain on Oakton Tour

Journey to culture-rich Spain on a two-week tour offered through the travel/study program at Oakton Community College. Two departures are scheduled in 2005, on June 3 and Sept. 30.

In Madrid, visit the Royal Palace built by King Philip V, the first Bourbon on the Spanish throne. Enjoy a morning journey to Toledo, the learning center of the sixth century, before returning to Spain's capital for a special flamenco performance. Visit the world's largest art museum, the Prado, and view paintings by Goya, El Greco, and Velazquez.

Travelers visit Seville, scene of many famous operas, and experience the art of winemaking at a sherry bodega in Jerez. Activities also include visits to the famous Royal Andalusian Riding School and an olive oil plant in Rute. Other highlights include Cordoba and the Mezquita, Granada's Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
