Journey
to culture-rich Spain on a two-week tour offered through the travel/study
program at Oakton Community College. Two departures are scheduled
in 2005, on June 3 and Sept. 30.
In
Madrid, visit the Royal Palace built by King Philip V, the first Bourbon
on the Spanish throne. Enjoy a morning journey to Toledo, the learning
center of the sixth century, before returning to Spain's capital for
a special flamenco performance. Visit the world's largest art museum,
the Prado, and view paintings by Goya, El Greco, and Velazquez.
Travelers
visit Seville, scene of many famous operas, and experience the art
of winemaking at a sherry bodega in Jerez. Activities also include
visits to the famous Royal Andalusian Riding School and an olive oil
plant in Rute. Other highlights include Cordoba and the Mezquita,
Granada's Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
