from the documentary film, Rebuilding Hope, chronicling filmmaker
Jen Marlowe's 2007 trip to South Sudan, will be shown 11 a.m. - 12:15
p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf
Road. The screening is free and open to the public.
Rebuilding
Hope follows three men who return to South Sudan after 20 years
in exile due to civil war. The documentary explores their quest to
reconnect with their homeland and locate surviving family members.
The screening will be followed by a Q-and-A session with Marlowe.
Marlowe's
previous films include Darfur Diaries: Message from Home,
which examined atrocities in Sudan, where at least 400,000 civilians
have died since 2003.
