"Engaging Difficult Clients: Co-Creating a Therapeutic Climate
Ripe for Change," on Thursday, Feb. 5, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This
one-day class at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, will
be led by Matthew Selekman, family therapist and co-director of Partners
for Collaborative Solutions.
Designed
to help therapists improve patient recovery and participation, this
course focuses on innovative ways to succeed with clients who have
failed to respond to previous treatments. Using "hands-on, practice-oriented"
workshops, participants learn and utilize proven engagement techniques.
Selekman teaches effective skills in order to extract useful patient
information with the intent of aiding in faster and more positive
recovery results.
The fee
for this class is $55 and includes lunch. Registration is available
by mail, fax, or in person at the Des Plaines campus and Ray Hartstein
Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. All registrations must be
