Historic Pilgrimages Offered on Oakton Tour
Tour famous European religious sites on a travel/study program sponsored by Oakton Community College. The final 2008 trip departs in November.
Worship with local parishioners at the Basilica of Fatima in Portugal. Visit the coastal village of Nazare and experience the architectural splendor of Alcobaca Monastery. In Spain, tour the gothic Cathedral of Burgos, constructed during the early 13th century. Head northeast to Lourdes, France, to visit the places associated with the life of St. Bernadette, including the Holy Hill. Cross back into Spain and explore the fascinating city of Barcelona with a tour that showcases Las Ramblas Boulevard, Columbus Monument, and Parc Guell.
