Oakton
Community College has received more than $1 million in funding from
the U.S. Department of Education, to fund the College's Student Support
Services program (SSS TRiO) for four years.
The
$1,150,000 grant will provide comprehensive educational support to
low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities.
Oakton's SSS TRiO program provides tutoring, mentoring, academic and
career advising, computer and calculator loans, and transfer assistance
services to help students reach their educational goals.
