Curtis
Webley, a part-time faculty member at Oakton Community College, will
sign copies of his first novel, Surviving in America, 2 - 3
p.m., April 17, at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.,
Evanston.
Surviving
in America traces the lives of two Jamaican immigrants, Amin and
Ragweed, whose paths differ greatly as they adjust to life in the
United States. Sensible and dependable, Amin is the epitome of hard
work; Ragweed, however, turns to a life of crime.
Webley,
an adjunct professor of accounting, immigrated to America from Jamaica
in 1975. He earned a BS in accounting from Roosevelt University in
1981, his CPA from the University of Illinois in 1992, and his MS
in taxation from Washington School of Law in 1995.
Surviving
in America is available through Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and
