Emeritus Computer Classes Welcome You to the Wired, Wired World


Join the wired, wired world of computer technology by enrolling in courses offered by Emeritus, Oakton Community College's continuing education program for older adults. Taught by Oakton adjunct faculty member Ila Migut, these courses cover basic computer devices, applications, and more.

Click Here: No Experience Necessary (DPR A31) focuses on basic terminology, the Windows desktop, keyboard and mouse functions, and how to start programs and use files. Two sections of this class are scheduled for the fall 2002 term, with enrollment limited to 10 people in each section. DPR A31-61 meets from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on six Mondays, beginning Aug. 26, at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Avenue, Skokie. DPR A31-62 meets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on five Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 10, at the Des Plaines Campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. The course fee is $200.

A new course, Computer Graphic Design: Greeting Cards and More (DPR A43-61), introduces the fundamentals of graphic design and layout using Adobe PageMaker software. This class meets from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on six Fridays, beginning Sept. 20, at the Ray Hartstein Campus. The course fee is $200.

Students age 60 and above who reside within Oakton's district pay half-tuition for Emeritus noncredit classes. For more information, call (847) 635-1414 or (847) 982-9888, press 3.
