The Mythic Fantasies that Fueled the Third Reich

Printable PDF

Presented by Mike Heiser, Ph.D.
Behind the political propaganda and opportunism, a number of elite Nazi leaders cultivated imaginative fantasies that drew upon myths, symbols, and teachings of mystics. These beliefs propelled their apocalyptic worldview, believing they had been chosen to transform a world in turmoil into a new world order. What mythic trajectories led them to embrace a totalitarian messiah, programs for restoring an elite quasi-divine racial stock, and the systematic extermination of millions viewed as lesser beings?

Author, Mike Heiser earned the M.A. and Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvania
