Oakton Receives Grant to Aid Veterans and the Unemployed

Oakton recently received a $128,532 grant from the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County to provide assistance to veterans and adults who have lost jobs.

The grant enables a workforce and veterans coordinator to advise targeted populations on career, education and training services available under the Workforce Investment Act and partner with the Illinois workNet Centers to coordinate recruitment, case management and assessment services. In addition, the grant supports recruitment and outreach initiatives to identify veterans and adults who lost their jobs and inform them about Oakton and workNet Center resources. This is the second year in a row that Oakton has received a grant from the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County.
