Illinois Skyway and NJCAA Honor Two Oakton Athletes

The Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognized two Oakton athletes as Players of the Week on Monday, November 21.

In women’s basketball, freshman center Ebone Green (North Lawndale) received conference honors as well as recognition from the NJCAA Region IV Division II District D for scoring 52 points and pulling down 30 rebounds in three games during the week ending November 19. In Oakton’s 74-58 victory over nationally-ranked Kankakee on November 15, she notched a team-high 24 points.

In men’s basketball, the Illinois Skyway and the NJCAA Region IV Division II District B acknowledged freshman guard Najee Bailey (Wheeler) for tallying 49 points and 11 rebounds in two contests. For the week ending November 19, he also connected on 11 of 13 free throws and 19 of 31 field goals.
