Oakton offers new crime investigation course

(Jan. 8, 2016) You don’t have to be a superhero to fight crime. Explore crime scene analysis by enrolling in a new forensics course offered at Oakton Community College.

Forensics II (LAE 239 001) provides hands-on experience using alternate light source and solid-state lasers. Topics include techniques in the examination of blood splatter, ballistics, and impression evidence, along with procedures in forensics mapping and the use of GPS for outdoor crime scenes. Sixteen week course meets 2:30 – 5:20 p.m., Thursdays, starting January 21, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. The prerequisite for this dynamic course will be waived for this semester only.
