Oakton announces “The 100 Challenge”

(May 3, 2016) The Oakton Alumni Council and Educational Foundation President Howard Singer have thrown down the gauntlet and challenged Oakton alumni to double the impact of their giving to the Foundation’s Annual Fund. As part of “The 100 Challenge,” if 100 alumni gifts are received during the month of May, Singer will match all gifts dollar for dollar, up to $2,500.

“With graduation season upon us, and a new class about to transition from students to alumni, this is a great time for the alumni community to come together and have a far-reaching impact on Oakton and its students,” said Singer, a Northbrook resident. “Alumni engagement is vital to the future of Oakton – it moves us from good to great as an institution and a community. We have seen steady increases in alumni giving in the past years, and I want to cultivate this budding culture of giving amongst alumni by inspiring them to reach for new heights.”

Alumni participation in the Foundation’s Annual Fund provides immediate and critical support for student scholarship and programs. Gifts of all sizes are welcome as part of “The 100 Challenge.”

Donations can be made online at oakton.edu/alumni, by phone at 847.635.1893, or by check to Oakton Educational Foundation, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
