Oakton Wins Equity Award
Oakton is the recipient of the 2010 Central Region Equity Award from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). The award recognizes the exemplary commitment of a college and its employees in enhancing and expanding opportunities for minorities and women in areas such as enrollment, employment and promotion.
The award will be presented Friday, Oct. 22, at the ACCT Annual Community College Leadership Congress in Toronto. As one of five regional winners, the College is eligible for the Charles Kennedy Equity Award, a national honor bestowed by the ACCT. The winner of the national award will be announced at the annual convention.
