Best-Selling Author, John Mearsheimer, Visits Oakton

Mearsheimer, professor of political science and co-director of the Program in International Security Policy at the University of Chicago, will offer commentary about the current state of the United States. Mearsheimer is the author of The Tragedy of World Politics, which defends “offensive realism,” a political theory under which each state must ensure its own survival by maximizing its share of world power. The lecture is part of the “Saturday Scholars” series sponsored by the Emeritus Program at Oakton.
