Women’s Soccer
2006 Season Summary
Midfielder Gisela Gomez highlighted Oakton’s season in which the
Raiders finished 3-9-2 overall and 2-5-1 in conference play. The freshman
forward from Maine East led the Raiders with 30 points (13 goals, 4
assists) en route to being named one of the top three players in National
Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region IV Division I. Postseason
accolades also poured in for Gomez as she was named to the NJCAA Region
IV Division I All-Region First Team and Skyway Conference All-Conference
First Team.
Several other players also received postseason
accolades. Forward Lauren Arterian, midfielder Jill Haas, and midfielder
Elizabeth Holland all were named to the NJCAA Region IV Division I All-Region
Honorable Mention Team. Haas and Holland were also Skyway Conference
All-Conference First Team selections. Arterian, goalkeeper Samantha
Espina, and defenseman Bonnie Levy were named to the second team.
