The PDPSC was appointed by President Lee in Fall 1998 and charged with identifying ways of delivering employee education programs for institutional learning and developing a program to meet the training, education, and development needs of all College employees. In response to this charge, the PDPSC developed the mission statement, goals, and structure described below.
Mission Statement
The Professional Development Program will provide an opportunity for Faculty,
Staff, and Administrators to develop job-related and interpersonal skills
throughout the year. Specifically, this will include programming in such
areas as employee orientation, leadership, technology, teaching/learning
and career skills, as well as personal enhancement.
The desired outcome of this mission is successful formation of programs
that help Oakton Community College attain its strategic goals by meeting
the training, educational, and development needs of the institution and
its employees.
