Not many Buckthorns, dense covering of Sugar Maples.  A       lot of Garlic Mustard.  Nice colonies of Spring Ephemerals- Toothwort, Woodland Anemone, Leek (South) Many mature Sugar Maples + Red Oak

(1995) Thin a few Sugar Maples

(1995) Cut Buckthorn 

Shrubs:

(1995) In deer exclosure, two Gooseberries.

Vines:

(1995) Cat's Briar adjacent to Deer Exclosure.

(2002-2004) Moon Seed showed up in Deer Exclosure.

Plants:

(2002) Student grown Woodland grasses planted along scope adjacent to drainage stream (Area 13).

(2002) Black Raspberries thinned in Deer Exclosure.

Seeds:

(2003) Woodland grasses and some Forbs in Far South section adjacent to Drainage Ditch (Area 13).

Weeds:

(1995) Garlic Mustard, Canada Thistle

RESULTS (AREA 11) Beginning in 2001

Positive:

(2003) Garlic Mustard almost under control in Southern area

Deer exclosure – nice recovery of Penn Sedge, Geraniums, Gooseberry, some grasses, Figwort, Red Trillium, Moon Seed

Negative

(2003-04) Large amounts of work to do throughout.

(2003-04) Northern section – very degraded

(2003-04) 90% if ground barren of vegetation by Summer

(2003-04) Slope adjacent to Floodplain (Area 10) eroding, barren
