Equipment and Materials
Instructional Media Services provides equipment
and educational media for regularly scheduled classes and special
events.
Over 90% of classrooms and teaching spaces at both campuses are permanently equipped with LCD video projectors, VHS decks, and computers with DVD playback capability. All classrooms and teaching spaces are permanently equipped with a pull-down or motorized screen as well as an overhead (transparency) projector.
Other special "media friendly" classrooms and Socratic Pits are available at each campus. Additional equipment and materials are regularly delivered to classrooms, set up, and cued prior to class, and then removed after class.
IMS maintains an inventory of equipment at each campus including:
- LCD projectors for traditional video
and computer projectors
- Color TV monitor/receivers, DVD and VHS
playback units
- Video cameras, tripods and document cameras
- 16mm projectors and slide projectors
with infrared remotes
- CD/tape boomboxes and audio cassette
recorders
- Flipcharts and easels
- A variety of microphones, speakers, sound
systems and stands
- Mobile laptop and desktop computers
